What Does an NBA Injury Report Tell You?

An NBA injury report is a dated snapshot of player availability for specific games. It pairs a player’s current status with a reason, helping readers distinguish an injury or illness from other reasons a player may be unavailable. The report is more than a list of hurt players.

The NBA’s published table identifies the game date, game time, matchup, team and player before giving the status and explanation. Its March 24, 2026 report includes labels such as Out, Questionable, Doubtful, Probable and Available. The reasons include injuries and illnesses, but also G League assignments, two-way player arrangements and absence from the team. An Out label therefore does not establish that someone has an injury.

Read the status and reason together, and check the report’s timestamp. That same example lists some players as Available while retaining an injury-management note. It also marks some teams NOT YET SUBMITTED, which means their information is missing from that edition—not that every player is healthy. Source: NBA injury report, March 24, 2026.
