Who was Adolf Hitler?
Hitler
was a
dictator who ruled Germany from 1933 to 1945 and started World War 11. Hitler
was born
in Austria
in 1889. He was decorated for his bravery in the World War I, although Germany was
defeated in
this war.
After the war, he formed the National Socialist Party or
'Nazis' and took over Germany as chancellor in 1933. Within six months, Hitler eliminated
all rival
political parties.
He led Germany into World War 11 in 1939 and conquered most of the Europe.
Millions of
people were killed in the Nazi camps. He persecuted Jews. By 1945, Germany was
crushed by
Britain,
Russia and United States. Hitler committed suicide to
avoid capture.
