Who First Used Acupuncture?

In acupuncture needles are inserted in the body to treat illness. It has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years. The Chinese believe that our body has two opposite states called Yang and Yin. Yang is associated with light, sun, south and masculinity, while Yin is associated with darkness, the moon, the north, femininity and wetness. An illness occurs whenever there is an imbalance between the two. Acupuncture is used to restore the balance of Yin and Yang by using needles which vary from 2-25cm in length. They are inserted at one or more of over 800 points lying in our body.
