Which is the Highest Mountain in Japan?

Fujiyama or Mount Fuji is the highest mountain in Japan with a height of 3,776 m. It is a cone shaped volcanic mountain which erupted for the last time in 1707. Japanese consider it as a sacred mountain. It is visited by thousands of people who consider it as a sacred pilgrimage. It gets covered with snow during winters, which melts in summer. Japan has more then 160 volcanic mountains, a third of which are active.
