What are Eels?

Eels are fish which are long and slim with narrow ribbon like fins. Some eels have scales while some are covered with slime. Some eels swim thousands of kilometres and lay eggs in a far off ocean. They die after laying eggs. The small ones that hatch out from the eggs are transparent and in no way resemble the parents. These young ones find their way on their own, to their parents' place which is thousands of kilometres away.

From there they travel to rivers and streams. The young eels live in freshwater, until they are grown up and get ready to reproduce far off in the ocean.
