How is Water Supplied to Houses?

Water comes to our houses through under ground pipes. It usually comes from a large reservoir fed by a river or stream or directly from lakes and rivers or wells dug deep in the ground. In all cases, the water is rainwater, which falls and flows into waterbodies or seeps deep underground. From the reservoirs, lakes, rivers and wells, the water goes to a purifying station where chemicals are added to kill germs and the dirt is removed. The pure water is pumped to water tanks or water towers to be stored. From here, it flows through the pipes to the homes by gravity or is pumped to houses.
