What is a Motherboard?

A large board containing a number of tiny electronic circuits and other components inside the system is called a motherboard. This board contains the microprocessor, main memory, RAM or ROM support circuits, bus controller and connector. The bus connector connects other boards, including expansion memory and input/output boards, that are attached to the motherboard.
