What is a Keyboard?

A set of switches that resemble a typewriter keyboard and that conveys information from a user to a computer or data communication circuit, is called a keyboard. A computer keyboard is usually similar to a typewriter, with the traditional QWERTY layout of letter and digit numerical pad and function keys. The keyboard may be part of a personal computer or part of a terminal connected to a computer somewhere else. Not all keyboards are QWERTY mode.
