What is a Komodo Dragon?
The Komodo
dragon is the largest lizard in the world and belongs to the
family of
monitor lizards. Komodo is, in fact, the largest land lizard to have ever
existed on
the earth and can measure up to three metres
long.
They inhabit
only the island of
Komodo and
the neighbouring
Indonesian islands.
The dragon
hunts wild
pigs, deer and monkeys
and also
scavenges on carrion.
Young Komodo
dragons catch
insects and
small mammals.
